BASINGSTOKE Town boss Michael Gilkes has called on his players to turned up and be counted as the Dragons take on the arch Hampshire rivals Havant and Waterlooville at the Camrose on Saturday in a big relegation six-pointer.

The Town boss has felt in recent games there has been too many passengers, which has seen his side not win in their last three outings. Gilkes said: “In the last few games we have had at least five players who have not turned up to play.

"You carry carry one or two players, but not half a team so it is no surprise we have lost the last two.”

“If the players are honest with themselves they know they have not performed as well as they can.

"I want every player who plays on Saturday to put in a performance and I am sure we can the result we really need at this point of the season.

The only way is up for the Dragons in the National League South and they are eight points from safety and Havant currently occupy the place just above the drop zone.

A loss would surely signal the end for Town, but Saturday game is also a chance for quick revenge for Town after the Hawks beat them 2-0 on Tuesday night in the semi-final of the Hampshire Senior Cup at Westleigh Park.
