BASINGSTOKE Town will be looking to bounce back to winning ways and take the scalp of the National League South league leaders Ebbsfleet when they travel to the Camrose on Saturday (3pm).

The Dragons were unable to make it four wins on the trot, when they were beaten 1-0 in a Hampshire derby game at Havant and Waterlooville.

They face a Kent side who are six points clear at the top, but have yet to win a league game in 2016.

They drew their first two outings and then last weekend lost their own local derby game 2-1 against visiting Margate, who are now one of the in form team in the league.

The Dragons have done well at Camrose in recent outings with victories over Hayes and Yeading and Hemel.

They will once again go into the game against Ebbsfleet, minus hard tackling midfielder Jamie Brown who picked up a knee injured in the win over Hemel.

The club are still awaiting the results of a scan to see the extent of the injury.

He has been difficult to replace in the heart of the midfield all season and Town boss Michael Gilkes has not ruled out anymore new faces at the club ahead of the game against Ebbsfleet.

Gilkes said: "We are always looking and we do not want to sit still. If I feel a player will make us better I will sign him."

When Town travelled to Kent on the opening day of the season, they were narrowly beaten 1-0.

"We gave a good account of ourselves in that game and deserved at least a point.

"They will come here looking to get a win especially after they lost last week.

He added: "So I do not expect them to sit back and we will do the same as we need the three points, so it should make it an exciting game."
