BASINGSTOKE Town’s new boss Michael Gilkes is looking for his side to make it three wins out of three, when Dartford are the visitors to the Camrose in a National League South clash on Saturday (3pm).

Gilkes enjoyed his first victory since taking over from Jason Bristow last weekend, when the Dragons scored an injury time winner at Bishop’s Stortford in the National League South.

Then on Tuesday night he saw his side book their place in the last eight of the Hampshire Senior Cup after a 1-0 win at Blackfield and Langley.

The win against Bishop’s Stortford, Town first away from home, saw them close the gap at the bottom of National League South to four points to St Albans City and they are now six points from safety.

Another win on Saturday would leave the Dragons in touching distance of the teams above them.

Gilkes will wait on reports on Dartford and the formation they are likely to play, before he decides on his starting XI.

The manager has a full squad to pick from apart from injured pair David Ray and Jamie Brown.

The Kent visitors are 11th in the table and won last week at home to lowly Havant and Waterlooville 4-2.

Looking ahead to the game Gilkes said: "We have had Dartford watched and I have yet to make a decision on what my starting line-up will be. For the past two Saturday I have gone with the same XI, but there maybe changes this time.

"At the moment we need results and this is our main focus and not the performance, as points are important to us to get us moving up the table."

Gilkes admitted he is still on the look-out for more players to bolster his squad as his side head towards their busy Christmas schedule.
