LAST weekend we made hard work of our victory over Maidenhead, but I think it shows how far we have come that we can say that after a victory.

Last season, I think we would have been over the moon to have got the three points, whereas this season we were a bit frustrated we didn’t make life easier for ourselves.

I think we have to accept that at the moment teams are raising their game against us. It’s something we have done in previous years and they know they will have to play well if they are to beat us.

We are in a good position, with games in hand on those around us. There are some really great games coming up for us in the next few weeks, while at the same time, those around us are playing each other.

Points will be won and lost and as Saturday showed, there will be games when we really have to dig deep to get the points.

The squad are in confident mood and win, lose or draw on Saturday, they will be for the remainder of the season.

On the injury front, Simon Dunn took some part in Tuesday’s session and will be looking to train more tonight. If he has no reaction, he could return to the squad.

Jay Gasson will have his first session back from a broken toe tonight, while Jamie Brown had his operation last Thursday and has started his rehab, so the squad is looking stronger.

Next week, the Academy hold their first trial for next year’s scheme. There has been a lot of interest already but it is not too late to apply.

There is also a meeting in the clubhouse on Tuesday, February 24 at 6.30pm if anyone would like to know more information about the scheme. Contact the club if you are interested.

Regards,

Jason
