BASINGSTOKE footballer Ben Wright has joined Vanarama Conference South outfit Havant and Waterlooville.
The 26-year-old striker, who began his career at Basingstoke Town and had a loan spell at the club last season, joins the Dragons' league rivals after being allowed to leave Eastleigh.
Wright, who has also played for Peterborough United, Crawley Town and Forest Green Rovers, helped Eastleigh to promotion from the Conference South last season, scoring 13 goals in 20 league appearances for the south Hampshire club after joining on loan from Salisbury City.
He turned his loan into a permanent deal over the summer but has found it hard to break into the team this season, finding the net once in seven appearances.
As a result, he was allowed to leave Eastleigh. Havant were one of many potential suitors and Wright this afternoon signed a deal that will keep him at Westleigh Park until the end of next season.
