TOTALLY Tennis Mini Performance player Esther Adeshina won the first Winter National Tour Grade 2 Girls 10 and under event of the season, held at the Bolton Arena.
Adeshina, qualified for the event by winning the Grade 3 Winter Regional Tour at the Esporta Surrey in Croydon.
In total 16 girls qualified for the national event, which was held in a compass draw format.
She won her first round and quarter final matches on the first day beating Phoebe Watton 4-2, 4-1 and Mae McCutcheon 4-1, 4-0.
In the semi-final the following day Adeshina defeated Sonay Kartal in a tight match as Adeshina took the first set 4-1, only for Kartal to take the second.
The Totally Tennis player then upped her game to win the tie-break 10-6 and secure a place in the final, against top seed, Anna Michelle Chesca.
Both girls put on a brilliant tennis display and with the score level at 4-4 in the first set, they were evenly matched contestants.
Adeshina pushed through winning the tie break 7-3 which gave her the determination to finish off the match taking the second set 4-1 to win the national event. Tennis Director Nigel Long said “It’s a fantastic achievement that Esther has won the national event at the Bolton Arena and really is testament to her sheer hard work and dedication – an incredible start to the winter season!”
