BASINGSTOKE tennis ace Josh Goodall has continued his great form this summer with another couple of title wins.
After a double success in the AEGON Pro Series in July, which earned him the Aegon player of the month award, the British number nine won back-to-back AEGON British Tour events in Worthing and Sutton.
In Surrey, Goodall won a titanic three set battel over Matthew Short to take the title.
He won the opening set on a tie-break 11-9, but then slumped in the next set losing it 6-1, before hitting back to take the title thanks to a 6-3 win in the last set.
To reach the final, Goodall also beat Myles Orton in another hard fought encounter 7-6, 2-6, 7-5 – this after a quarter-final success over Aleksandr Emepesov 6-2, 6-2.
The previous week, Basingstoke-born Goodall was in great form at Worthing, not dropping a set on his way to the final.
The World number 415 opened with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Mathhew Hingley, followed by victories against Joe Mills 6-3, 6-4 and John Richards 6-3, 6-1.
Goodall wrapped up his third title of the summer with a 6-4, 7-6 win over Miles Bugby.
