Hannah's a star name in Germany

TOTALLY Tennis Mini Performance player Hannah Smith has won two tournaments in Germany – following on from her recent win in the Red County Tournament eight-and-under mixed singles at her home indoor centre.

In the Red County event, Smith defeated Dean Cooper Kirby 11-9, Gemma Lane 10-2 and Max Guibelegulet 10-2 in the round robin stages.

She then beat Eliza Wheeler 10-6 and Cooper Kirby again in the final 11-9 to win the event overall.

Smith then won her first German event, the Babolat Open in Manching, beating the head coach’s daughter Helen Hudler in the under-eight girls’ final. She even featured in the local newspaper.

She then went on to take the Sport Scheck Open, equivalent to a grade three tournament in the UK, with more than 300 juniors in different age groups.

These latest results come after Smith has enjoyed a fantastic summer of results, winning the grade three eight-and-under Colbornes Open in Woking, beating all the boys in the event and coming runner-up in the Bournemouth Open Totally Tennis head coach Oli Meager said: “Hannah has had an amazing summer of results, and this can all be attributed to her hard work in her sessions – one of the best skills a young tennis player can possess is listening skills, and Hannah has this in abundance and is able to put coaching advice into her match play.”

“And let’s not forget the dedication and support that her parents offer, as this is a vital part of a young player’s development."
