Goodall first up for GB in Davis Cup tie

BASINGSTOKE tennis ace Josh Goodall will open Britain's Davis Cup tie against Ukraine in Glasgow on Friday (midday), when he faces Illya Marchenko.

The 23-year-old, the highest-ranked player on the GB team at 192, will be up against the world number 224 in a game shown live on BBC2.

Their match will be followed by Chris Eaton against Ukraine number one Sergiy Stakhovsky in the Euro/Africa Zone Group One tie at Braehead Arena.

Saturday's doubles rubber will see Ross Hutchins and Colin Fleming team up against Stakhovsky and Sergei Bubka, while Sunday will see the reverse singles.
