KINGSCLERE A maintained top spot in Basingstoke and District Tennis League Men’s Division One thanks to victories over RSF B and Goodworth Clatford.
Chris Pearce/Paul Rattue and Daniel Cole/Nigel Baker helped Kingsclere to a 5-3 success over RSF and an 8-0 win over Goodworth Clatford.
RSF A moved up to second place after a good 6-2 win against Old Basing A. Basing bounced back with a 7-1 victory over Goodworth Clatford, Phil Dixon/Rob Still getting a maximum.
Totally Tennis A maintained their 100 per cent record with a 7-1 win against Kintbury, Simon James/Ben Jubin winning all their sets.
Preston Candover head Division Two after a 7-1 win against Kingsclere B and despite losing 8-0 to Andover B.
Aldermaston A are on the same number of points as the leaders after wins against Overton (5-3) and Kingsclere B (6-2), with Pete Hillman/Dave Bull once again picking up a maximum. Andover B beat Waverley A 7-1.
Division Three leaders Odiham A recorded their third straight win, beating BDH 6-2, with Claudio Nold/Tom Lynch winning all their sets.
Old Basing B have started with two 5-3 wins against Mortimer and Oakley B. Mike Chamberlain/Matthew Savastano were unbeaten in the Mortimer match, as were Mark Fuller/Mark Hammond in the Oakley game.
Adam Fitzgerald/Simon Woodhall won all their sets for Hampshire Court A in their 7-1 win against BDH, who also lost 5-3 to Mortimer.
Oakley A won their opening match 7-1 against Beechdown B thanks to a maximum from Kelvin Wilcox/Trevor Woods.
Totally Tennis B are in front in Division Four after a 7-1 win at Sherborne, with Tim Rice/Jack Mitchell being unbeaten.
However, they did slip up 6-2 against second-placed Odiham B, with Nold/Phil Askew getting a maximum for the victors.
The Odiham B team also saw off Sherborne 8-0, with Nold being joined by Jeremy Hillage and Roger Barnacle/ Lee Aubrey.
Newbury have had mixed fortunes so far. After a couple of losses, they recorded their first win, beating Sherborne 5-3 before drawing with Aldermaston B.
Hampshire Court B won 8-0 against Hook and Waverley B also recorded the same score over Aldermaston B, thanks to their team of Tim Clist/John McKay and Dave Attoe/Chris Clinch.
