HAMPSHIRE under-12 boys team, which was captained by Odiham's Ryan Golesworthy, won the Junior Team of the Year award at the annual Hampshire and Isle of Wight LTA Tennis Awards held at Winchester Racquets and Fitness Club.
The under-12 team was steered to the final of the National County Cup, under the management of Colin Jakeway from Kingsley Tennis Centre.
The finals were held in Bolton, after 44 counties took part in the competition with Hampshire reaching the final for the first time ever in this age group.
Odiham's Ryan Golesworthy captained a focused and determined Hampshire team during the season and received the award from Hampshire Chairman Peter Grinyer.
Golesworthy said: “The award was a complete surprise and it means a lot. Hampshire is a great county to be playing for, it's always an honour to be part of the team.”
