BASINGSTOKE and District Tennis League Men’s Division One champions Andover A completed their season with comfortable 8-0 victories over Overton A and Preston Candover.

Kingsclere A finished as runners up thanks to victories against Old Basing A (5-3) and Preston Candover (7-1), with Dan Cole and Steve Mills winning all of their sets.

James Barratt and Earl Sibley were unbeaten for RSF A in their 7-1 win at Waverley A and the RSF team also won 8-0 against Preston Candover.

Shaun McDonald and Liam Hignett were another pair to win all their sets for Overton A in their 7-1 win against Aldermaston A.

Totally Tennis A won the Division Two title after seeing off both of their closest rivals, Beechdown A and Andover B, with 8-0 scorelines. Simon James/Tim Rice and Ali Olrog/Ben Jubin made up their team against Andover.

The Totally Tennis team also beat Odiham A 8-0, but Odiham got their first points on the board with a 6-2 success against Oakley B. David Barnacle and Jeremy Hillage won all of their sets.

First win Waverley B lost two of their final three matches 6-2 to Beechdown B and Winchester. However, they got their first win of the season by beating Odiham 6-2. Oakley B drew with Winchester.

RSF B had won the Division Three title before they played their final two matches, but they did not let up, beating Goodworth Clatford B 5-3 and Overton B 6-2.

Hook moved into to the runners-up spot with wins against Andover C (6-2) and Goodworth Clatford B (5-3).

Just one point separated third-placed Kingsclere B and the three teams below them, with the Kingsclere side claiming a podium place on sets won. They beat Mortimer A 8-0 and Overton B 5-3, before drawing with Goodworth Clatford B. David Giles/Nigel Baker and Nick Sibley/Adam Price were the Kingsclere team for the match against Mortimer.

Mortimer went on to beat Beechdown C 7-1 thanks to a Dave Thomas and Nick Harris maximum, while Andover C beat BDH 6-2, Dan Arnold and Gregor Corcoran being unbeaten. Overton B won by the same score against Beechdown C, with Drew Robinson and Eric McCann winning all of their sets.

The two Hampshire Court teams completely dominated Division Four, finishing on the same number of points, but the B team took the title on sets won over the season.

The B team completed their fixtures with an 8-0 win against Mortimer B while the A side beat Mortimer 7-1, Aldermaston B 6-2 and Totally Tennis C 6-2, with Simon Woodhall and Adam Fitzgerald winning all of their sets.

However, they could only draw at Odiham B, with Claudio Nold and Roger Barnacle being unbeaten for the home team.

Sherborne beat Mortimer B 6-2 with Spence Jno-Lewis and Jeremy Thatcher getting a maximum, while Oakley C won 8-0 at Old Basing C.
