ANDOVER A were the Basingstoke and District Tennis League Men’s
Division One champions with Kingsclere A finishing second.
Goodworth Clatford A completed their fixtures with two 7-1 wins over Oakley A and
Beechdown A to move out of the relegation zone.
Despite a 5-3 win against Overton A in their final match Waverley A look likely to be relegated along with Oakley and Beechdown.
As expected Aldermaston A won Division Two after wins against Preston Candover 6-2and Kingsclere B 7-1, with Colin Bennett/Dave Bull getting a maximum. They also drew with Old Basing B, who finished in the runners-up spot.
A very tight battle for third place was won by Preston Candover, who despite losing 7-1 to Oakley B, beat Kingsclere B by the same score in their final match thanks to a maximum from Iain Miller/Steve Grove.
Winchester beat Kingsclere B 8-0 to move them out of the relegation positions and Old Basing B beat Kingsclere 6-2.
Division Three champions Totally Tennis A rounded off their season with a win at Hook A.
Eric McCann/Drew Robinson were unbeaten for Overton B in their draw at Aldermaston B.
RSF B completed their season in Division Four with another 8-0 win at Odiham B.
Beechdown C secured runners up place after a draw with Mortimer B and Andover C took third place with a hard fought 5-3 win at Mortimer B with Brad Fettles/Dan Arnold coming back from 5-0 down in take the final set 7-5 and win the match.
