STEPHEN Pritchard, chairman of the parish council’s facilities management committee, officially opened the recently resurfaced Court One at the Old Basing Tennis Club.

The village club has four courts based at the Old Basing Recreation Ground.

After the opening, the club held its annual finals day with Jamie Thomas and Jemma Godleman winning the men’s and ladies’ singles titles, while Charles Robertson won the junior crown.

The men’s doubles title was won by Andrew and David Mountford, while Penny Luke and Lisa Alan were victorious in the ladies’ doubles.

The mixed doubles crown went to Phil Dixon and Beverley Cleaver.

In the handicap doubles, the top men were Andrew Mountford and Roy Pike and the top ladies Heather Mountford and Kirsten Henson.
