TOTALLY Tennis Mini Performance players have been enjoying success at the end of summer tournaments.

Kirsty Da Silva was runner-up at the David Lloyd eight-and-under girls event held in Southampton.

In the group stages she beat Nicholas Moore 10-8, Quaiden Lowe 10-4, Harry White 11-9 and William Addleton 10-2 but lost out to Ambrose Evamy 10-8. She was joint box winner with Moore and both progressed through to the main draw.

In the semi-finals, Da Silva beat Chris Van Der Walt 10-3 and Moore beat Harry Lumb 10-4.

Da Silva then faced Moore again in the final in a rematch of their encounter earlier in the day but this time Moore won
the match 10-1 and Da Silva went home with a very respectful runners-up medal.

Da Silva was in action again in the annual Hampshire and Isle of Wight County Closed tournament held at Winchester Racquets and Fitness Club.
 

Competing in the eight-and-under event, Da Silva was playing alongside club mate Amberly Chapman. Da Silva defeated Gabrielle Gwilliam 10-5 but lost out to Chapman 10-5 and event winner Hannah Buzzard in a close match 11-9.
 

Chapman finished in second place, beating Gwilliam 10-5 but she also lost to Buzzard 10-3.
 

In the nine- and-under girls singles, Isla Hignett finished in third place, Jasmin Bromilow in fourth and Tillie Reid finished in sixth position.
Hignett beat Reed 7-4, 7-3, Bromilow 7-4, 7-2 and Louisa Upcraft 7-0, 7-0 but lost to eventual winner Rina Hayamizu 7-2,  7-1 and runner-up Eliza Wheeler 7-1, 7-3. Bromilow beat Upcraft 7-2, 7-3 and Reid 7-4, 7-2 and also lost to Hayamizu 7-1, 7-2 and Wheeler 7-0, 7-2. Reid was unlucky, losing out to Upcraft 7-1, 7-4, Wheeler 7-2, 7-1 and Reid 7-1, 7-2.

Performance players Liam Hignett and Miles Bromilow both competed in the 14-and-under boys singles competition.
 

After byes in the first round, Hignett beat James Blair in round two 6-1, 6-1 but lost in the quarter-finals to Noah Bradwell 6-2, 6-3. Bromilow went out in round two, losing to William Thompson 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-1.
 

Players are now in training for the winter tournament season. Chapman has already competed in the Surrey Junior Tournament held at the Tennis England – Esher club.
 

In the eight-and-under mixed singles round robin event she won two matches and lost two. She defeated Max Old 10-4 and
Catherine James 10-1 and lost out to Lorenzo Rotondi 10-3 and Cerys Howells 10-4.
 

Hignett played in her first Green competition at Heston, where she won all three of her matches. She beat Parami Aye 4-2, Eva Stoopin 4-0, and Una Maricevic 5-4 (7-3 on the tie-break). The last match in the matchplay event was played as a final, which Hignett won to pick up a medal.
