Totally Tennis Mini Performance player Tillie Reid claimed a runner-up spot at a recent tournament, while Eliza Wheeler was third in her event.

Reid was in action at the Greenacre Eight and Under Mixed County Tournament held in Newbury.

Reid, coached by Jamie Jordan, won three and lost three of her matches to finish runner-up spot. She defeated Phoebe Coleman 10-4, Zara Burney 10-6 and Jamie Bowsher 10-6 but lost to Max Harris 10-6, Jacob Shepard 10-3 and event winner Leonardo Santoro-Fergussson 10-8.

Wheeler finished third overall in the Southampton Winter Regional Nine and Under Girls tournament held at the David Lloyd club in the city.

In the quarter-finals Wheeler defeated Chloe Elliott 7-4, 9-7 but she lost in her semi-final match against eventual tournament winner Rina Hayamizu 7-3, 8-6. In the third/fourth play-off match she beat Jana Cooper-Marcos 7-5, 7-2 to finish in third place.

Jamie Jordan said of Reid’s progress: “I have been coaching Tillie for just four months and I am really pleased with her progress and proud of her achievements to date.

“She has played in lots of competitions and is improving all the time, gaining confidence and competitive experience.”
