Basingstoke and Deane Sports Awards 2007
Junior Volunteer – Craig Fiddes
RUGBY expert Craig Fiddes was the winner of the junior volunteer crown.
The 16-year-old is a keen member of Basingstoke Rugby Football Club, performing a number of roles at Down Grange.
In addition to playing for the club, Fiddes runs the scoreboard for the first team on matchdays, referees junior games and carries out numerous other tasks.
"I am really proud to have won this award," he said. "It's a good achievement to put on my CV and means a lot."
The Kempshott resident has a lot to look forward to this year. On the playing side, he will move up to the academy squad next season, and he is also looking forward to getting more involved in refereeing.
