BASINGSTOKE Town's eventful week ended with a 4-1 defeat away at Blue Square South strugglers St Albans City on Saturday.
The home side dominated proceedings throughout and went into half-time a goal up thanks to a Paul Bruce penalty.
Paul Hakim doubled the lead early in the second period and Waisu Akanni Sunday made it 3-0 shortly after.
James Taylor pulled a goal back for Town but Bruce's second of the match, a stroke of luck from 40 yards, completed the rout.
