London Irish lost in their LV= Cup encounter in Wales 27-18 to Scarlets, despite leading by seven points at half-time.
The home side scored the first points of the contest in the second minute from the boot of Steven Shingler and the same player doubled their advantage to 6-0 with another penalty.
The Exiles hit back as Andrew Fenby scored a try and Myles Dorrian converted which gave the visitors the lead.
Two more penalties from Dorrian made the score 13-6 at half-time.
The home side hit back after the break with three tries from Harry Robinson, Adam Warren and Kyle Evans which were all converted by Shingler.
This made it 27-13 and the scoring was completed by London Irish Academy under-18 captain Theo Brophy-Clews with a try.
The Exiles are in LV= Cup action again on Saturday when they entertain Newcastle Falcons at the Madejski Stadium (kick-off 3pm).
