CHINEHAM Lions extended their winning streak to five wins as they beat visiting Ellingham and Ringwood 38-0.

The home side opened the scoring from Sam Goodall and then the visitors missed a penalty.

The next Chineham try resulted from winning the ball in the scrum and Matt Lingham broke tackles in a 40 metre run, before he touched down just to the left of the posts. Kieran Daley slotted over the conversion for a 12-0 lead at half-time.

After the break, Chineham started with a try and conversion from Daley.

His try came from a scintillating run down the right wing, where he was just too quick for the Ellingham defence. The next two tries were all about forward power and building on barnstorming runs from Lee Rudden and Dave Rees, which each time prop saw Jack Douglas finish off some great Chineham driving mauls to claim a brace of tries.

The scoreline was completed as Goodall's clearance on Chineham’s own five metre line, saw the visitors unable to collect the ball. which Lingham did.

He chipped over the disorganised Ellingham players and Goodall ran on to touch down. Daley kicked his fourth conversion of the game for the 37-0 victory.

The victory moved Chineham up to third in the Hampshire One table and this week they are away at promotion rivals Fareham Heathens.
