CHINEHAM Lions cruised to victory in their local derby against Kingsclere to maintain their position near the top of the Hampshire Two table.

Third-placed Chineham routed their visiting local rivals 40-0 on Castle Field, a result that means Kingsclere remain ninth in the table, with just one team below them.

Overton were beaten 31-3 away at table-topping Locksheath Pumas and sit seventh ahead of a home game against Aldershot and Fleet on Saturday. Chineham travel to fifth-placed Fawley this weekend, while Kingsclere host Alresford.

Tadley Tigers sunk back to the bottom of London Two South West after losing 17-8 at home to Portsmouth. The game could prove to be pivotal in the battle against relegation and Portsmouth’s victory moved them seven points clear of Tadley.

Aldermaston also lost, going down 54-12 at home to high-flying Risborough in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Championship. Dean Smith and Ian Martin scored the Aldermaston tries, with Kyle Gregory adding a conversion. Next up for them is a trip to bottom side Faringdon on Saturday.
