TADLEY Tigers RFC sprang a surprise in London Two South West, beating visiting Old Alleynians 30-10 to record just their second win of the season.

Fifth-placed Old Alleynians will have fancied their chances against a Tadley side who made a poor start to the season, but the hosts were able to build on their maiden win of the season two weeks earlier.

They led 6-3 at half-time, but fell 10-6 behind early in the second period. However, tries from Luke Titley, Charlie Cox and Brin Filer saw the hosts hit back to take the victory.

Despite the win, Tadley remain 10th in the table – but the gap between them and eighth place is down to just two points. However, they face a really tough test on Saturday, travelling to second-placed Tottonians.

There was a local derby in Hampshire Two, with Overton beating Kingsclere 52-5 at Laverstoke Park. Chineham are up to third in the table after inflicting a first defeat of the season on Ventnor, winning 17-12 on the Isle of Wight.

There is another all-north Hampshire clash this weekend, when Chineham host sixth-placed Overton. The visitors will be out for revenge after losing 26-21 to their local rivals in the Hampshire Plate two weeks ago.

Ninth-placed Kingsclere face a visit from fifth-placed Fawley.

Aldermaston sit sixth in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Championship table after losing 27-3 away at Farnham Royal. They host fifth-placed Harwell this weekend.
