ALDERMASTON RFC are out of the Berkshire Plate following a 19-17 defeat at the hands of local rivals Thatcham on Saturday.

However, Tadley remain in the competition after their trip to Berkshire Shire Hall was cancelled by the hosts, who were unable to raise a team and chose to forfeit the game.

Table-topping Tadley face a tough trip to third-placed Slough in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Premier this weekend, but an even bigger game will take place at the Fieldgate Centre, in Kingsclere.

The hosts, who are currently bottom of the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Championship, will welcome Aldermaston to their ground for what is sure to be a keenly contested derby. Kingsclere are bottom of the table, with -5 points, while Aldermaston sit third.

Overton will be keen to put an end to their terrible start to life in Hampshire One as they host mid-table Bognor, while Chineham could leapfrog opponents Ventnor and move into the Hampshire Two top five with victory at Castle Field.
