TADLEY RFC suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday, going down 22-10 away at Bicester in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Premier.

After a scoreless opening 25 minutes, Biscester took the lead with a converted try, while a penalty extended the lead to 10 points soon after.

The visitors got themselves back into the game just before half-time, Tom Bartlett collecting Craig Raymond’s kick to touch down in the corner.

Tadley levelled the game early in the second half, scrum-half Jake Cottrell going over on the blindside following a driving maul, but Bicester scored two more tries to tie up the points.

Tadley remain top of the table on points difference but they will be keen to return to winning ways on Saturday, when Phoenix visit Red Lane.

Aldermaston are up to third in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Championship following a 20-6 victory away at Faringdon last week.

An Ian Martin penalty and Joe Wood’s try, converted by Martin, had Aldermaston 10-0 up at half-time. Cody Eibig crossed the line after the break, with Martin again converting, while Ben Crew ensured victory with a late penalty.

Kingsclere lost 15-12 at home to Winslow but the bonus point they claimed for losing by less than seven points was their first of the season.

They remain bottom ahead of a trip to leaders Abingdon on Saturday, while Aldermaston host sixth-placed Harwell.

Overton's tough start to life in Hampshire One continued as they were beaten 76-12 by visiting Millbrook on Saturday.

The hosts never recovered from losing fly-half Alex Plows and centre Rob Sutherland to injury in the early stages and while Liam Hobbs and Marc Meggison both crossed the line for tries, Carl Syrett kicking a conversion, Overton were well beaten.

The Laverstoke Park side will be looking to move off the bottom of the table this weekend, when they travel to Southampton, the side just above them.

Chineham were held to a 3-3 draw by visiting Locksheath Pumas in Hampshire One.

The hosts kicked the opening points of the game in the early stages, but in difficult conditions, chances were few and far between.

Chineham held on to their slender lead into the second half, but Locksheath drew level after the break and neither side was able to break the deadlock.

The draw means that Chineham sit seventh in the table ahead of a trip to Nomads, who are just above them, on Saturday.
