'Stoke suffer cup final defeat
BASINGSTOKE were beaten 25-15 by Havant in the final of the Hampshire Cup, which took place at Down Grange on Sunday.
The visitors dominated the first half, scoring two tries to take a 15-0 lead into the change of ends.
'Stoke improved greatly in the second period, with winger Glen Lewis scoring twice in the first 18 minutes to reduce the deficit to just eight points after Havant had successfully converted a penalty.
The visitors added a third try in the closing stages and while Basingstoke claimed a late score through centre Simon Buckland, the game was beyond them.
