BASINGSTOKE RFC's hopes of winning the London One South title are all but over after suffering a heartbreaking 15-14 defeat away at leaders Chichester on Saturday.
The hosts began the game well and led 12-0 after just 32 minutes but 'Stoke hit back and reduced the lead to five points at half-time thanks to a try from Jamie Fish.
'Stoke dominated the second half and led 14-12 with 11 minutes to go thanks to a try from replacement forward Matt Horne, but the leaders kicked the winning penalty as the game ticked into injury-time.
