BASINGSTOKE RFC tightened their grip on the London two south title with a 21-12 win over Gravesend at Down Grange on Saturday.
’Stoke made a good start and raced into an 11-0 lead thanks to Andrew Fitchett, who kicked two penalties and touched down for a try.
Gravesend then fought back, scoring two tries, one of which they converted, to go 12-11 ahead early in the second half.
The league leaders were not behind for long though, Simon Appleby scoring a try and Fitchett adding the conversion and a further penalty to complete the scoring.
