BASINGSTOKE RFC picked up a bonus point, as they lost their opening London Three South West encounter at Farnham 36-20.
After an even opening, Farnham opened the scoring after 25 minutes and quickly built up a 24-0 lead, which included the bonus point try.
Stoke opened their account with an unconverted try, just before the break.
The second-half was a lot closer, with the visitor’s scoring three more tries to secure their own bonus point try.
Stoke open their home campaign on Saturday with a visit from Weybridge Vandals who they beat in their final game at Down Grange last season.
Weybridge opened their campaign on Saturday with a 13-11 home win over Battersea Ironsides.
