BASINGSTOKE RFC ladies played their second round of the Hampshire Touch Series looking to build on their showing in the last round.

First up they faced another new team in Gosport and Fareham and lost narrowly 1-0 and then drew 0-0 with Farnborough in their next match.

Their third encounter was against hosts and series leaders Fordingbridge, and they proved too strong, despite the ladies having some good patches of play they lost 5-0.

Stoke bounced with a victory against Fareham Heathens thanks to a second half try from Lucy Salder.

The penultimate game saw them play Aldershot and Fleet which ended 1-1 draw with Michelle Pickard scoring.

Their final game was against Andover and Basingstoke thought they have taken the lead at the start of the second half, when Hannah Pulleyn touched down at the start of the second half but was called back for a contested touch.

Andover then showed their experience to score two tries to win the game as Stoke had to settle with fifth place out of seven teams.
