BASINGSTOKE RFC face a tough trip this weekend as they travel to title chasing London Cornish for their latest London Two South West fixture.

Stoke will travel to Roehampton hoping to break their winless start to the campaign and will face a side which lost their last outing on home soil to Portsmouth.

However, since then Cornish have recorded two away wins at Andover and London Exiles.

This has put them second in the table just four points behind top side Cobham as the season moves to half way stage.

Stoke head coach Gareth Hatherley-Hurford will not be putting any pressure on his players as they head to London hoping to take a notable scalp.

Hatherley-Hurford said: “It will be a good opportunity for the lads to use the experience from the first eight games and try to test themselves against one of the top sides on results in the league so far this season.

“We have reflected well on the first 8 games what’s gone well what has not gone so well and how we can try to fix this but we are indeed under no illusions that anything is a quick fix as we wear at the beginning of the season.”

He added: “There is a fair bit to go in this league this season lots can happen between now and the last game on April 23 at home to Weybridge Vandals, we are just continuing to focus on what’s important for us week by week month by month.

“Score and result aside the important thing is we can come away from the game knowing we have given a good account of ourselves against a good apposition.”
