LONDON Irish have announced that former England international fly-half Andy Goode will join the club in the summer.

The 34-year-old, who is the second-highest Premiership points scorer of all time, won five titles and two Heineken Cups with Leicester Tigers. He has also played for Saracens, Brive and Worcester, spending the last two seasons with Wasps.

Goode, who played 17 times for England between 2005 and 2009, scoring 107 points, said: “I am really looking forward to joining London Irish. They are a family club heading in a really promising direction.

“The facilities are very impressive and having spoken to the management and coaching staff, it is a club I am really excited to be joining.”

Bob Casey, London Irish’s operations director, said: “Andy is a top-class player and one of the leading goal kickers in the Premiership.

“He has a wealth of experience to offer and is also a leader. He has proven himself as one of the best fly-halves in the Premiership and we are delighted he has signed for us.”

Irish have also announced that utility back Andy Short has joined on loan from Championship outfit Bristol until the end of the season.
