KINGSCLERE rugby star Tom Croft has been named on the bench for England’s opening game of the Six Nations.
The 29-year-old, who has been away from the international scene for almost two years due to a succession of injuries, was called up to the England squad last week.
England, who get their Six Nations campaign under way with a trip to Wales on Friday, have been beset by injury problems, with coach Stuart Lancaster forced to make numerous changes.
Flanker Croft, who has only been a regular in the Leicester Tigers side since the turn of the year, has been a beneficiary of this and will be hoping to win his 39th cap at the Millennium Stadium.
