Basingstoke RFC members will vote in a new committee during an Extraordinary General Meeting to be held later this month.

The club is currently without a chairman or secretary following the resignation of Steve Tristram and David Crabbe, who stepped down in the wake of a Rugby Football Union panel hearing into the decision to field an ineligible player under a false name in the First XV away league match against Guildford last September.

The agenda for the meeting, which will take place on Wednesday, January 21, is yet to be finalised, but a new committee will be voted in on the night.

Chairman of playing John Byett said: “We just want the club to move forward. It has been in turmoil for the last three or four months but now we need to move on, with the club as a whole behind the board.”
