TADLEY Tigers claimed their first win of the season on Saturday, moving off the bottom of the London Two South West table with a 19-18 victory away at Old Reigatian.
Despite being without the services of several important players, visiting Tadley were the first to score, the pace of Rob Dods-Samson resulting in a try that Craig Raymond converted.
An interception try got Old Reigatian on the board, but Dods-Samson successfully charged down the conversion to keep Tadley ahead and the lead was increased when Kyle Brewer intercepted a loose pass and crossed the line. Raymond's conversion put the visitors 14-8 ahead at half-time.
Old Reigatian hit back in the second half, scoring two tries to take the lead for the first time, but Tadley were able to respond, Tom Bartlett crashing over in the corner to give his side a one-point lead.
The hosts looked to hit back and narrowly missed a penalty that would have won them the match, but Tadley defended well to claim their first win of the season going into a week off.
