ALDERMASTON RFC routed visiting local rivals Kingsclere RFC 74-0 in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Championship on Saturday.

The hosts ran in 12 tries, with Paul Castle, Cody Eibug, Dan Vince and Ben Crew among the scorers, to move up to third place in the table.

Aldermaston had tied up the four-try bonus point before half-time and ran away with the game in the second half, when bottom side Kingsclere were reduced to 14 men by a red card.

The strugglers are without a game this weekend, while Aldermaston face a trip to Berkshire Shire Hall, another team near the bottom of the table.

Berks, Bucks and Oxon Premier champions Tadley Tigers celebrated winning the league in style, beating Slough 52-15 at Red Lane on Saturday.

The Tigers, who had tied up the title a week earlier, showed no mercy on mid-table Slough, running in eight tries in front of their home supporters.

The home side trailed to an early penalty but hit back with tries from Duncan Ewart, Craig Raymond, Ben Anderson and Charlie Cox making it 26-3 at half-time. Second half scores from Jake Cottrell, Pete Rosier, Raymond and Luke Titley secured a comfortable win.

Tadley will be looking to reach the final of the Berkshire Plate on Saturday, when they host local rivals Thatcham in a semi-final at Red Lane.

Chineham slipped to sixth in the Hampshire Two table after losing 13-7 away at Ventnor on the Isle of Wight at the weekend.

The first half was very tight but the hosts led 7-0 at the break as Chineham failed to deal with the loss of Lee Rudden to a yellow card.

Two penalties early in the second half extended the lead to 13-0 but the visitors responded. Kris Ford and Luke Dyer were both ruled to have been held up over the line, Jonty Moody was adjudged to have knocked-on in the process of touching down and Ford tripped when looking set to score a certain try.

Moody did eventually score, with Jordan Slaney converting, but that was all that Chineham could muster and they left the island empty-handed.

The May's Bounty team are on the road again this Saturday, visiting third-placed Locksheath Pumas.

Overton RFC were unable to raise a team for their trip to Bognor in Hampshire One. They remain bottom of the table and are without a game this weekend.
