Tadley's fine start to the season continues
TADLEY RFC made it three wins out of three at the start of the season with a 38-17 victory away at Chipping Norton on Saturday.
The visitors made a strong start and took the lead after 10 minutes, centre Charlie Cox dotting down from a tap-penalty, with the conversion putting Tadley 7-0 ahead.
Chipping Norton pulled three points back with a penalty just before the break and took the lead with a converted try early in the second half, but going behind seemed to spark Tadley into life.
Winger Gareth Cripps-Jones scored two tries in as many minutes and while the home team pulled a try back, their flanker was then shown a yellow card - and Tadley capitalised with two tries.
Jon Owen got the first after the forwards turned the ball over at the breakdown, while Ron Murray went over from a maul as Tadley secured the win late on.
The result means Tadley sit second in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Premiership table, with just points difference separating them and the leaders. Bottom side Farnham Royal visit Red Lane on Saturday.
