JAMES Vince believes two wins from Hampshire’s last two Royal London One-day Cup group games could be enough to qualify for the knockout stage.

Hampshire have a huge penultimate south division game against Surrey at The Oval tomorrow (11am).

Both sides are on six points from six games, with Hampshire fourth on net run rate ahead of the Brown Caps, who won by 44 runs at home to Kent yesterday.

Sussex, who visit The Ageas Bowl for a day-nighter in the final round of games on Wednesday (1.30pm), are a point above in third, the final qualification spot.

Unlike previous seasons, fourth place will not be enough to qualify.

The group winners automatically progress to a semi-final with the second and third-placed teams playing off against a team from the other group.

The winner of each quarter-final 'play-off' will play one of the group winners in the semi-finals.

After yesterday’s third defeat in five games, Vince said: “It’s a quick turnaround to Sunday but if we win two out of two we can still qualify.”

There were also south group wins yesterday for leaders Somerset at Gloucestershire and for Essex at home to Middlesex.
