MASON Crane took four wickets, but his Hampshire teammate Tom Alsop was out for a pair as Middlesex beat the MCC in the season's curtain-raiser in Abu Dhabi.
Batting at three, left-hander Alsop was lbw to James Harris and Harry Podmore for six-ball and two-ball ducks as the MCC were dismissed for 332 and 151 by the county champions.
Crane finished with 0-44 from ten overs as Middlesex were routed for 179, by Lewis Gregory (5-32) and Craig Overton (4-37), in their first innings.
But the in-form leg-spinner was the MCC's biggest threat on the final day as Middlesex, needing 305 to win, chased down their target with just one wicket to spare.
Crane finished with 4-95, including the big scalps of Nick Gubbins (52) and Nick Compton (59), from 21 overs.
He trapped Gubbins lbw with his first ball after a change of ends and dimissed Compton in the same spell (11-0-60-2) before returning with 5-0-16-2.
Hampshire play Middlesex in their first home match of the season next month.
