SOUTHAMPTON’S turnaround in Snows Group Hampshire 2 continued as they walloped Aldershot & Fleet 80-5 at Test Park.

Saints, unbeaten at home for three games and up to sixth spot, had the match all but wrapped up at half time but kept the pressure on to record their biggest win in some time.

Coach Tom Morton got the try scoring underway and braces came from Ashley Saunder, Lucas Quiquempoix with another from captain Chris Gleboki inside the first 40 minutes.

Aldershot did their best to make a game of it and struck back with a try early in the second half but Southampton crossed the line at regular intervals.

Robbie Ashby got his first try for the club while teammate Sam Montague was off the pitch through a yellow card and Saunter went on to bring up his hat-trick.

Montague then made up for his misdemeanour with two tries from centre and there was another from Quiquempoix.

Defeated Fawley are hard on the heels of second-placed Alresford with both sides winning.

Lymington Mariners made the short trip to Gang Warily where they were defeated 41-22 by Fawley while Alresford won 15-11 at Alton.

Locks Heath Pumas picked up their fifth win of the season with a 24-9 home success over Nomads.
