Fidel Edwards has confirmed he will be playing for Hampshire next season.

The 34 year-old fast bowler took 45 wickets at 20.88 to inspire Hampshire's 2015 Great Escape.

But he missed most of last season after suffering an ankle injury while playing football before the final day of the draw against Yorkshire at Headingley in April.

Writing on his instagram page, he said: "It's about to go down!!!....Look who's back @hampshirecricket ... It's been a tough year for me but after my horrendous injury #hampshire kept faith in me and even tho I'm not 100% I can safely say I will be ready for 2017 and even better than ever... Big thanks to all my friends, family and most of all fans that help me back along the road to recovery "RESPECT"πŸ‘ŠπŸΎπŸ‘ŠπŸΎπŸ‘ŠπŸΎπŸ‘ŠπŸΎβœŒπŸΏοΈπŸ’ͺ🏿πŸ’ͺ🏿..... #ageasbowl @hampshirecricket I'm coming back home😁😁"
