Hampshire have included Reece Topley as one of three left-armers in a 13-man squad for Sunday's opening Specsavers County Championship match against Warwickshire at The Ageas Bowl (11am start).

Tom Alsop is set to make his first division debut as a replacement for the injured Jimmy Adams (ankle) and there is also a place for Mason Crane, who took 5-35 when Hampshire won the corresponding match of last season by 216 runs.

Given the time of year and the forecast rain, Crane is expected to miss out, despite his impressive pre-season form, along with one of the three left-arm seamers.

With all-rounders Gareth Berg (knee) and Ryan Stevenson (back) both injured, Chris Wood may well make his first Championship appearance since last April.

Fellow left-armer James Tomlinson is also in contention. Hampshire will not play all three left-armers and are yet to decide whether Topley is ready for a four-day match after a winter of limited-overs cricket with England.
