The Ageas Bowl  will turn pink for Hampshire’s NatWest T20 Blast match against Glamorgan next week.

As part of ‘Ladies Day’, the home of Hampshire Cricket will be lit in a different hue on Friday, July 3 to raise money and increase awareness for a new breast cancer support centre,

Young female cricketers from across the county will take part in the pre-match T20 Skills Challenge. There will also be themed retailers on site, including Wool and the Gang, and exclusive offers available from the UK’s first Hilton eforea spa which includes eight treatment rooms, spa pool, salon and a nail bar at the Ageas Bowl.

Ageas Bowl Commercial Director, Stuart Robertson said: “We’re delighted to support The Haven for our Ladies Day – it’s a charity which is close to the hearts of a lot of people in the county.

“But not only is this an excellent opportunity to raise a lot of money for a great cause, this also allows us to continue our on-going efforts to promote women in sport and in particular, their participation in cricket.”

The new breast cancer support centre will be based in Titchfield  when it opens in October.

It will be run by The Haven, a national charity that works closely with NHS partners to go beyond medical treatment, to help patients and their families cope with the wider impact of breast cancer through one-to-one specialist care.

Heidi Rehman, Community Fundraiser for The Haven in Wessex, said: “We are thrilled that the Ageas Bowl and Hampshire Cricket are supporting us at this exciting 'pink themed' match. Refurbishment at our centre is progressing well and we hope to be open to receive visitors in October this year.

“Hampshire Cricket has such a huge following within our region and this opportunity will really help us to raise awareness of our new breast cancer support centre and will ensure that help will reach those that need it most once we are open.”
