HAIL helped Hampshire drew their LV County Championship match at The Ageas Bowl.
Hampshire needed 392 from 70 overs when play began at 1.30pm, but only 9.4 overs were bowled before hail denied Nottinghamshire any chance of victory.
Captain Jimmy Adams, who made ten as Hampshire reached 29-0 before play was called off, said: "A draw was the best we could hope for but we were confident we could bat out the day if necessary."
Hampshire's next Championship match is against defending champions Yorkshire at Headingley on May 10.
