Hampshire will be up against Mahela Jayawardene when they play Sussex at Hove on June 19.
Jayawardene has joined Hampshire’s south-coast rivals for a seven-match T20 Blast stint after missing out on a place at the Indian Premier League.
The 37 year-old helped Sri Lanka win last year’s World Twenty20 and will also retire from one-day internationals after the World Cup, having ended his glittering Test career in August.
Former Sri Lanka captain Jayawardene is due to join up with the Jamaica Tallawahs after the clash with Hampshire, who begin their T20 Blast campaign against Essex on May 15.
