Hampshire’s cricketers are returning to Barbados to ensure a sun-filled pre-season ahead of next season’s domestic campaign.

The county have today confirmed they will return to Barbados for a fifth consecutive pre-season tour next March.

The two-week training camp will see the LV= County Championship Division Two winners face Warwickshire, Nottinghamshire, Barbados and the University of the West Indies in a twenty20 competition alongside a number of warm-up matches.

Hampshire Director of Cricket, Giles White said: “The conditions in the Caribbean are perfect to enable us to prepare in the best possible way for what is a big season.

“We are always hugely thankful of the warm reception we receive when we go to Barbados so it’s great for us to go back.”

In partnership with Smile Group Travel, fans can join Hampshire on their Caribbean travels .

“The supporters’ backing is absolutely crucial in the early part of the season and it’s something we very much hope we can have in the Caribbean,” White added.

Hampshire legend Gordon Greenidge and former England international fast-bowler Devon Malcolm will be the tour hosts for the trip, which is priced from £1695pp.
