Former England prop Phil Vickery will be fronting a day of celebration, fun and DIY at Eastleigh Rugby Club tomorrow.

The international star, who pulled on an England jersey 73 times, is visiting Eastleigh’s Bishopstoke Road HQ after the club was named Pride of the Nation.

Eastleigh came top of the NatWest RugbyForce regional competition before going on to be declared top in the country.

The club, and hundreds of others across the land, will welcome members, volunteers and local businesses from the community for a day or two of DIY to help make clubs stronger businesses by renovating their facilities.

Eastleigh’s day kicks off with an ‘all you can eat’ breakfast and the screening of New Zealand v England before a questions and answers session with Vickery, who played club rugby with Gloucester and Wasps and was an integral part of England’s 2003 World Cup winning squad.

A late spring clean and maintenance programme will run throughout the day alongside tag rugby games for all ages.
