Tottonians aim to keep their winning streak going against a south coast side that has an equally impressive record.

Brighton visit Water Lane in the second round of the RFU Intermediate Cup as leaders of London South-East 2.

Totts’ coach Gavin Williams admits his side will face formidable opponents but the home side hold a lofty position at the same level in South-West 2 – sitting in second place on the same points as the leaders.

The clubs’ records point to an exciting clash at Totts’ headquarters – Brighton defeated London Cornish 32-0 in the first round while Tottonians returned from Medway with a 40-26 victory.

Williams said: “Brighton are riding high in their league and will present a stern challenge but we are confident we can maintain our current form and progress to the next round.

“At this time of the year momentum is crucial and we are taking the cup competition very seriously. The players are doing everything we ask of them and more, and are a joy to work with.”

Prop Stu Mackrell is unavailable for Totts and is replaced by Matt Searle, who is returning from injury, and scrum half Joe Jarvis switches to the wing to cover absent Mike Thomas.
