Olympic rowers will marry today
OLYMPIC rowers will tie the knot today supported by a host other London 2012 competitors.
Natasha Page is marrying Sam Townsend after eight years together and among their ushering and bridesmaid teams are five other Olympians.
Their dresses and suits have been supplied by well known Marlow clothing shop Jolliffes in Chapel Street.
Natasha and Sam spend most days in and around Marlow because they train at the English Institute of Sport at Bisham.
After having trouble finding a wedding outfit supplier, Natasha spotted Joliffes.
"We popped in there on the off chance and they were so helpful and friendly," she said.
"The dresses were lovely and they had a lot of options, so we opted to go with them."
The pair will get hitched on Saturday on Hartpury, Gloucestershire.
"We've got quite a lot to do but we're looking forward to it," Natasha said.
Natasha, who came fifth in the Olympics final, admitted it was a bit unusual for so many Olympic athletes to be involved in one wedding.
Three men's Olympic rowers - Charles Cousins, Dale Lucas and Alex Gregory - are ushers.
Bridesmaids include Sophie Hoskins, gold medal winner in the Lightweight Women’s Double Skull and Jessica Eddie, who competed in the womens eight.
Relatives Ben and Julie Townsend and Beth and Becky Page make up the wedding support teams with club rowers Nikki Brown and James Waters.
Jolliffes Manager Rachel Jolliffe said: "It's an honour to be involved. Rowing is such a big sport in Marlow."
Rachel, the sister of Ben Joliffe, of rock band Young Guns, said: "I'm not actually a big sports fan and I didn't think I'd even watch the Olympics but with the girls being in it, having met them I was gripped watching how they got on on TV."
