After winning gold at last year's Olympics, Marlow's hockey hero, Alex Danson, said she will "never ever forget" scooping another prestigious medal - an MBE.
It was announced in the New Year's Honours list that the Rio 2016 medal winner would be awarded an MBE for services to hockey and she was finally presented with her latest award at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace yesterday (February 28).
Alex got to celebrate the incredible moment with her Team GB hockey team mates including Nicola White, Maddie Hinch and Sophie Bray.
After the ceremony, the athlete took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the special day.
She said: "I will never ever forget today, I feel so lucky to have played the sport I love, I vow to give back."
Alex made her senior international debut in 2001 when she was also runner-up in the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.
Her goal helped England defeat Germany to win bronze at the 2010 World Cup, while she also won a bronze medal at London 2012, her second Olympics.
Her third Olympics in Rio saw Alex score five goals, helping her team to the top of the podium.
