RESIDENTS and sports enthusiasts will get the chance to have their say on plans for a revamped Handy Cross sports centre next week.

Wycombe District Council hope the planned centre, which it describes as new and first class, will be built by 2015.

The exhibition of design plans will be available to view in the main reception of the sports centre during its normal opening hours.

It will include details of ground and first floor plans, site plans and external images.

Cllr Alex Collingwood, Leader of Wycombe District Council, said: "We've already spoken to a wide range of sports and leisure clubs, and we're excited about how the plans are shaping up, but now we want local residents to tell us if we're on the right track."

The proposed new sports and leisure centre is the first phase of long-term master plan for the Handy Cross site and the surrounding area.

As part of the redevelopment of the site and the need to keep the current sports centre open while the new one is built, both the synthetic turf pitch and running track will be relocated.

During the week, members of the project team will be on hand to answer questions about the plans from 6pm to 8pm on Monday, December 3; 2pm to 8pm on Tuesday, December 4; 9:30am to 2pm on Friday, December 7 and 9:30am to 11:30am on Saturday, December 8.

The display material can also be viewed at www.wycombe.gov.uk from 12 noon on Monday, December 3.
